BASIC TRAINING
PRIVATE PILOTS LICENCE
The Private Pilots Licence (PPL) is the standard foundation course upon which all other qualifications and licences can be built. After completing your PPL with High-G you will be awarded a licence which will allow you to act as pilot in command (PIC) in non-commercial operations on aeroplanes.
For the course you will need to complete 45 hours of flight instruction on aeroplanes including at least:
-
25 hours of dual flight instruction
-
10 hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least 5 hours of solo cross country flight time with at least 1 cross country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM) that includes full stop landings at 2 aerodromes different from the departure aerodrome.
You will need to complete a skill test after you have completed all the flying requirements, as well as 9 theory exams.
LIGHT AIRCRAFT PILOTS LICENCE
The Light Aircraft Pilots Licence (LAPL) is a more restrictive license than the PPL. It allows the holder to operate an aircraft within European states during daylight hours and in Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC).
For the course you will need to complete at least 30 hours of flight instruction including at least:
-
15 hours of dual flight instruction in the class of aircraft you will be taking your skill test in
-
6 hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least 3 hours of solo cross country flight time with at least 1 cross country flight of at least 150 km (80 NM) that includes 1 full stop landing at an aerodrome different from the departure aerodrome.
You will need to complete a skill test after you have completed all the flying requirements, as well as 9 theory exams.
